Welcome to Quiet Strength Fitness—I’m excited to get to know you! In the meantime, here’s a little bit about me.

I have always enjoyed being physically active. Some of my more notable accomplishments happened when I focused on distance running as a young adult. I won a few marathons, including one that I ran in three hours; I also ran the Boston Marathon, and I won two ultra-distance marathons. I even set the women’s record running in a “portage marathon,” where I carried a canoe on my shoulders the whole way.  As I’ve gotten older, my interest has shifted towards resistance training to enhance my athleticism and outdoor adventures.

I love the outdoors. To this day, being outside helps me weather the highs and lows of living with bipolar. I make it a priority to get outside every day; there’s just something about sunlight, fresh air, and mother nature that consistently lifts my mood. I mountain bike, bird watch, canoe in the Boundary Waters, run on trails, hunt, play pickleball, and go on walks with my sheltie, Aspen.
